Completed2021

Abstract

This study detailed the efforts to broadened and deepened the understanding of the effectiveness of the utilization of instructional guided design in solving quadratic equations as well as its disadvantages in grade 9 levels. The study looked at the demographic profile of grade 9 students in terms of age and sex. The level of understanding and effectiveness of instructional guided design .It also looked at challenges faced by students in solving quadratic equations. The researcher used descriptive research methods to provide answers to certain questions in order to achieve the research objectives. The aimed of this study is to explain a situation using the ideas and opinions of its respondents. A checklist questionnaire was used to collect data from thirty (30) purposely chosen respondents, who were grade 9 students from various secondary schools in Lucena.City, Quezon. Meanwhile, the researcher revealed that by using the instructional guided design method as a teaching strategy, most grade 9 students deepened their understanding of solving quadratic equations. The findings suggest that this teaching strategy can help students improve their mathematical skills. In this study, it was disclosed when the researcher successfully analyzed the data and discovered that instructional guided design in solving quadratic equations was effectively understood by 60% of 15-16 year old students and 63% of female grade 9 students. The researcher had a total general weighted mean of 4. 37 for the degree of understanding, 4. 12 for effectiveness, and 4. 2 for the challenges that the grade 9 students encountered.
