Problem Encountered by the Deck Cadets on their On The Job Training

Abstract
This study focused on determining the problems encountered by a deck cadet while on their On the Job Training. It utilized the qualitative-descriptive research design wherein data gathering, tabulation of the data gathered, and interpretation of the meaning of significance was done. The study conducted using a google form to avoid direct contact with the respondents and to observe the health protocols. This was pilot tested before the actual data gathering. There were 10 respondents who were personally selected by the researchers. The frequency weighted mean will be used in the statistical analysis while thematic analysis will be used for the analytical framework. Results reveal the problems encountered by the deck cadet while on their On the Job Training, how can they determine it as a minor or major problem, and how can they overcome those problems. In addition, the influence of their family and workmate reflected upon the answers of the respondents. Meanwhile, when the family and workmate serve as a motivation and inspiration to a deck cadet, it also influences them positively. There will be a significant influence on the parents, officers, and workmates and their perceptions of the problems that a deck cadet might experience.
