Abstract

This study examines how project management mediates the link between business performance and sustainability in manufacturing industries in the CALABARZON region, Philippines, emphasizing alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Using a quantitative cross-sectional approach, data collected from manufacturing employees were analyzed with PLS-SEM and WARP-PLS 6.0. Results show business performance significantly influences both project management and sustainability, with project management playing a pivotal mediating role in driving sustainable outcomes. The findings underscore the importance of integrating robust project management capabilities with sustainability frameworks to build organizational resilience amid digital and industrial transitions. This research contributes empirical evidence to the nexus between operational performance and sustainability, offering actionable insights for manufacturing firms to enhance sustainable business practices through effective project management.
