SDGSDG 3: Good Health and Well-being

MSEUF has launched the Bantay Kalusugan, Malusog Na Envergan Program, a flagship initiative focused on promoting the mental health and well-being of its community. The program includes a series of initiatives designed to help students, faculty, and employees manage stress, improve emotional health, and maintain a healthy work-life balance. Key components of the program include Health and Wellness Days, mental health breaks, and a special 7-day health and wellness leave for faculty and staff. These initiatives aim to create a supportive and caring environment for all members of the MSEUF community.

On March 20, 2023, and October 25, 2023, the University hosted Health and Wellness Days, organized by the Health and Safety Office, Human Resource Department, Medical and Dental Services, and the Office of Sports and Cultural Relations. These events served as platforms for raising awareness about mental health issues and offering practical strategies for managing stress. Activities included expert-led seminars on topics such as stress management, awareness on AIDS and HIV, and interactive sessions like Zumba, Pinoy games, and relaxation exercises.

In addition to the Health and Wellness Days, MSEUF introduced the Mental Health Break program, which is strategically scheduled during high-stress periods such as midterms and finals. This break encourages participants to engage in wellness activities, take walks, or practice mindfulness to help prevent burnout and reduce stress. The program has received positive feedback from the community, with attendees noting that it helped them manage their workloads more effectively and significantly reduced stress levels.

To further support the well-being of its faculty and staff, the University introduced a 7-day health and wellness leave. This special leave allows employees to take paid time off to focus on their mental health needs, whether for rest, therapy, or recovery from burnout. The initiative reflects MSEUF’s commitment to fostering a compassionate workplace culture where mental health is prioritized equally with physical health.

As part of its ongoing commitment to mental health, MSEUF plans to expand its services and offer additional resources and support. The University encourages all members of the community to take advantage of these mental health programs and to reach out for support whenever needed.
