Dr. Henedina A. Lagumen, Dean of the College of Criminal Justice and Criminology (CCJC), represented the university as a member of the Lucena City Police Station Advisory Group during the Launching, Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing, and Installation of Dashcams for the "Mata ng Lucena - Ligtas Ka" project on December 8.
The "Mata ng Lucena - Ligtas Ka" project is a partnership between the Lucena City Police Station Advisory Group and the Lucena City Police Station, aimed at enhancing crime prevention and public safety. The initiative involves installing dashcams on public utility jeepneys and tricycles, serving as a vital tool for monitoring and deterring potential criminal activities.
Dr. Lagumen's participation highlights the university's ongoing commitment to supporting community safety through active involvement in local law enforcement initiatives for the benefit of Lucena City.
The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Mr. Arnel Avila, Political Adviser and representative of Lucena City Mayor Hon. Mark Don Victor Alcala; PLTCOL Sheree Ann Smile H. Ubana, DPDO of the Quezon Provincial Police Office (QPPO), representing PCOL Ledon D. Monte, Provincial Director of QPPO; along with other key stakeholders, sponsors, and jeepney and tricycle drivers.
