Disenyo Debuho: An Open-Air Celebration of Envergan Creativity and Design

As part of the 77th Founding Anniversary of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, the College of Architecture and Fine Arts (CAFA) officially opened its annual Disenyo Debuho Art Exhibit on February 12 at the CAFA Building grounds. This year's exhibit transformed the outdoor space into a vibrant gallery of student artistry, showcasing a wide array of works from aspiring architects and fine artists.

A signature event in the University’s arts and culture calendar, Disenyo Debuho serves as a creative platform for students to express their evolving skills and ideas through architectural designs, paintings, sculptures, and multimedia installations. Each piece on display is a reflection of innovation, discipline, and the rich cultural perspective of the student-artists behind them.

The opening ceremony was led by Ar. Jennifer Sanchez, CAFA Dean, and Dr. Rosario Villamater, Chairperson of the 77th Founding Anniversary Celebration. Their presence emphasized the exhibit's importance in both honoring the University's legacy and continuing its tradition of cultivating artistic excellence.

Academic leaders across the university also joined in support, including Dr. Henedina Lagumen (College of Criminal Justice and Criminology), Dr. Divina Glifonea (College of Education), and Engr. Cielito Maligalig (College of Engineering), along with Director Joana Fe Panganiban of the Office of Student Affairs and Services and Felomena Quizana, President of the University Collegiate Student Council.

By hosting the exhibit outdoors, CAFA embraced a more inclusive and engaging format, making the arts more accessible to students, faculty, and guests alike. This open-air showcase fostered interaction and appreciation for creative expression beyond the confines of traditional exhibit halls.

“The Disenyo Debuho exhibit is not just about displaying talent—it is about shaping the way our students communicate through visual language, and inviting the community to experience that journey with them,” said Dean Sanchez.

This initiative reinforces the University’s commitment to the holistic development of students by providing creative spaces that inspire critical thinking, cultural appreciation, and meaningful dialogue through art and design.
