Enverga University remains a key member of Quezon’s educators DRRM network

Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation maintained active membership in 2024 in the Quezon Educators Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Organization (QuEDRRMO) in Lucena City to support the provincial government’s early warning, risk monitoring, and coordinated school disaster planning through regular meetings, data sharing, and aligned drills.

As a standing partner to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), MSEUF contributed officer leadership— Mr. Arby S. Lagman, Health and Safety Officer, serve as Vice President for the private schools sector, and Dr. Maria Sylvia S. Avila, Human Resource Department Director, serve as Secretary for the private schools sector—and kept school-based focal persons engaged so advisories reached classrooms, laboratories, and affiliated campuses quickly. The team synchronized campus protocols with government bulletins, refined incident-reporting channels, and ensured exercises reflected current climate hazards and displacement scenarios.

Through QuEDRRMO, MSEUF linked hazard mapping, safety orientations, and evacuation planning with provincial systems, enabling consistent messaging and faster mobilization during heat waves, heavy rainfall, or seismic events that can disrupt learning and displace nearby residents. The university also coordinated with affiliate schools to apply shared checklists and communications templates for efficient response across the network.

This work aligned with MSEUF’s mission and core values of Service, Unity, and Fortitude by pairing campus safety leadership with public-sector coordination to protect students and communities. It reflected outcomes-oriented, student-centered education as offices translated climate-risk lessons into drills, protocols, and real-time information flows that improve readiness.
