CAS faculty complete 'Skills for Success' training under Wadhwani Foundation
The second batch of trainers under the Wadhwani Foundation’s Skills for Success program completed their training Aug. 7–8, 2025, at the Alumni Center and EMRC 5 of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation.
The program aimed to increase student registrations on the Wadhwani skilling platform and ensure completion of the Job Ready Modules in focus mode.
Ms. Candy Coloma, regional head of the WF Skilling Network, and Ms. Ruth Bernil, lead trainer, led the sessions.
Nine English for Occupational Purposes faculty members from the College of Arts and Sciences participated.
The AI-powered platform uses the flipped learning method and provides materials and assessments to help students build workplace skills in writing, presentation, collaboration, and teamwork.
The training also introduced feedback models and included “teach-back” presentations to strengthen participants’ facilitation skills.
Beginning in the first semester of Academic Year 2025–2026, CAS will integrate the Job Ready Modules into the EOP syllabus, targeting at least 500 students to complete the 10 modules and earn certificates that can be added to resumes.
Vice President for External Relations Celso Jaballa opened the program and underscored the value of collaboration in achieving the university’s strategic goal to foster student success, employability, and alumni engagement.
CAS Dean Dr. Claudia Odette Ayala reaffirmed the college’s commitment to improving employability through career programs.
The Office of Scholarships and Endowment, Job Placement and Alumni Relations, headed by Director Maria Isabel Granada, co-organized the event.
Organizers linked the program to Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education) by strengthening teaching and learning, 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by enhancing employability, and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by collaborating with external organizations for workforce development.
