Alumni Association Holds Film Screening to Raise Scholarship and Endowment Funds
Nearly 1,000 alumni and guests gathered at SM Lucena Cinema 2 on November 30 for a block screening organized by the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation Alumni Association to raise funds for student scholarships and the University's endowment fund.
Dr. Divinia Glifonea, secretary of the Alumni Association, and Mr. Nino Magararo, treasurer, welcomed the participants along with alumni coordinators from the colleges. The event served as a reunion for Envergan alumni while supporting current students through financial assistance.
“This is more than a movie screening,” Dr. Glifonea said. “This is part of our continuing support to students who need help to stay in school.”
Magararo emphasized the impact of the fundraising effort on the University's long-term goals. “The endowment fund ensures that future generations of Envergans will have access to education,” he said.
As part of its annual tradition, the Association distributed free movie tickets to students of Elvira Razon Elementary School and the children of MSEUF’s maintenance personnel.
“We want to make sure that children outside the classroom also feel part of our community,” Magararo added.
The fundraising event aligned with MSEUF’s mission to deliver responsive programs supportive of national development goals, and with its vision to become a globally competitive university. It reflected the institution’s core values of service, unity, and fortitude, as well as its educational philosophy of social transformation through quality education.
