Filling the venue with gratitude and inspiration, a total of 667 scholars attended the Scholars Assembly at the AEC Little Theater, Aug. 28.

The event, held in two batches, recognized college academic scholars in the morning and university and institutional scholars in the afternoon. Conducted every semester, the assembly serves as a platform for scholars to gain insights and develop skills that prepare them as future-ready leaders.

Vice President for External Relations Celso Jaballa opened the program by asking scholars how they respond to disappointing grades, encouraging them to adopt a growth mindset. “Instead of a fixed mindset, we must learn to embrace growth and resilience,” Jaballa said.

Equally inspiring was alumna Karen Quing-Cunanan, who spoke on “Transforming Challenges into Opportunities: Developing Growth Mindset the MSEUF Way.” She stressed mindfulness to remain reflective, service as purpose-driven motivation, continuous improvement through excellence, unity in collaboration, and fortitude in overcoming setbacks.

Director Maria Isabel Granada of the Office of Scholarships & Endowment, Job Placement and Alumni Relations provided updates on scholarship guidelines, explaining the release of academic grantee reports through the Integrated Student Administrative Management Information System (ISAMIS). She said the system will speed up endorsement of grants, ensure automatic tuition deductions, and clarify processes for applicants not included in reports.

This assembly reflected MSEUF’s mission of outcomes-oriented education by fostering leadership, resilience, and a mindset for continuous growth. The core values of Mindfulness, Service, Excellence, Unity, and Fortitude were integrated in both reflections and lectures, preparing scholars to embody the Envergan spirit.
