The Office of Student Affairs and Services of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation conducted another installment of its Career ATLAS series in February 2026 at the University Gymnasium to help around 200 second-year students strengthen communication skills essential for career success.
Jonathan Magnata served as event chairperson for the program, which encouraged students to develop professional competencies early in their academic journey.
Rey Marco Casino, officer-in-charge of Student Affairs and Services, emphasized the value of communication in both personal and professional development. “Communication is a powerful tool for growth and career advancement, and mastering it can open many opportunities for success,” Casino said.
Jahzeel Sarmiento, associate professor IV at MSEUF, served as resource speaker and led an engaging session on effective communication strategies.
Her presentation included interactive exercises, simulations and real-life scenarios that encouraged students to practice communication skills in realistic situations. Participants responded enthusiastically and reflected on how effective communication improves teamwork, confidence and professional interactions.
Organizers said the session allowed students to better appreciate how communication competence supports academic achievement and career readiness.
The activity reflected the University’s core values of Excellence, Fortitude and Unity by developing students’ communication and interpersonal competencies. It also supported outcomes-oriented education by preparing learners with practical skills needed for professional success.
