BED-GTO launches psychoeducation program 1st session

To assist selected students from elementary, junior, and senior high school in developing their self-awareness, the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) through the initiative of the Basic Education Department Guidance and Testing Office (BED-GTO) conducted the first session of the Psychoeducation Program.

With the theme “Glow Up 101: Exploring beyond the Borders of the Self," the BED-GTO conducted the program at the EMRC IV (BED), Sept. 27.

Sherie Anne L. Gayeta, the Academic Support Staff of the Senior High School Guidance and Testing Office, served as the resource speaker where she  ensured the active participation of students during her presentation.

Gayeta consistently asked questions that allowed students to speak their minds and feelings and introduced various concepts regarding self-awareness and strategies to help the students realize their strengths.

At the end of the discussion, students were tasked with individual and group activities to gauge what they had learned.

The OSAS believed that students must learn to regulate their emotions, build self-confidence, improve relationships, and make better decisions that lead them to future success.

This activity is aligned with the following sustainable development goals:

  • SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being - Promotes mental health and well-being by enhancing students' self-awareness, emotional regulation, and confidence.

  • SDG 4: Quality Education - Provides students with psychoeducational support, ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education that nurtures personal development.

  • SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities - Supports equitable development by empowering students from various grade levels to recognize their strengths and potential.
