Envergan administrators train on technology readiness, commercialization
Strengthening the University’s capacity to move research toward practical application and commercialization, College of Engineering Dean Dr. Ronaldo Maaño and Research Publication, Incubation and Utilization Center Head Engr. Roselyn Maaño represented Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation at a Technology Readiness Level training workshop held Sept. 14-15 in Tagaytay City, Cavite.
The Southern Tagalog Consortium for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development organized the two-day workshop at View Park Hotel as part of the Department of Science and Technology CALABARZON’s activities leading to Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week 2026.
Through lectures and practical exercises, participants assessed the readiness of their research outputs, identified gaps in technology development and examined the steps needed to move innovations closer to practical use.
Resource speakers from the Department of Science and Technology’s Technology Application and Promotion Institute also discussed investment and market readiness, freedom to operate, and pathways toward commercialization. The sessions broadened participants’ understanding of the considerations involved in advancing research from development toward possible adoption and market application.
Representatives from higher education institutions across CALABARZON and DOST CALABARZON also participated in the workshop, providing opportunities for researchers and institutional representatives to exchange perspectives on technology development and innovation.
For MSEUF, the participation supported efforts to connect engineering research with practical applications and strengthen institutional approaches to research utilization and innovation. The knowledge gained from the workshop can also inform the University’s continuing efforts to assess research outputs and identify pathways for further development.
The activity supported MSEUF’s commitment to research-based knowledge, innovation and learning by doing by strengthening institutional capability in evaluating and advancing technologies toward practical application. It also reflected the core values of Excellence and Fortitude through continuous professional development and the pursuit of research with potential value beyond the University.
