MSEUF and DMW partner for AIR TIP

The Department of Migrant Workers or DMW gave talks on the Anti-Illegal Recruitment and Trafficking in Persons (AIR TIP) through a webinar attended by the MSEUF graduating students. Two DMW personnel, namely Ms. Junie D. Bobier and Ms. Wilma P. Mamiit, gave insightful and engaging talks on the agency’s mandate and its services. They highlighted two vital laws that DMW oversee: RA 8042 or the Migrant Workers Act, amended by RA 10022, and RA 9208 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act, amended by RA10364.
AIR TIP is one of seminars or learning sessions that graduating students must attend or accomplished before graduation. Under the PEP TALKS or Preparation for Employment and Entrepreneurship Program of the Office of Scholarships and Endowment, Job Placement and Alumni Relations, AIR-TIP aims to inform on the need to address the third largest problems in the country, and the world, which is illegal recruitment and human trafficking. Also, it aims to empower graduating students to understand the laws that will protect them from unscrupulous recruitment agencies and strategies to avoid these illegal acts that victimizes new entrants to the world of work.
The activity is organized by OSEJPAR, Office of Student Affairs and Services and the Graduating Class Officers.
