MSEUF hosts AFPSAT for first time, expands military career access

Expanding access to military career opportunities for students, alumni and local applicants, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation hosted the Armed Forces of the Philippines Service Aptitude Test for the first time from Sept. 26-29 at the DTYES Alumni Hall.

The four-day AFPSAT served as a pre-entry screening assessment for applicants seeking to qualify for the Officer Candidate Course and Candidate Soldier Course. The examination evaluated fundamental abilities in logical reasoning, language proficiency and problem-solving as part of the requirements for military enlistment and commission.

The activity resulted from coordination between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the MSEUF Center for Scholarships, Career & Job Placement Services, which handled candidate coordination, registration logistics and venue preparations for the on-campus examination.

Representing MSEUF were Office of Student Affairs Head Rey Marco Casiño; Center for Scholarships, Career & Job Placement Services Head Maria Isabel Granada; and center staff Robyn Anne Castillo and Ma. Juliene Fidelle Labitigan.

The Philippine Army team included Maj. Robbi Irvin Cruz, infantry team leader; Staff Sgt. John Lenart Aleganan of the Signal Corps; Sgt. Reinaldjay Motea of the Adjutant General Service; Cpl. Arman Acosta of the Infantry; Cpl. Remy Rose Dinulong of the Adjutant General Service; and Cpl. Christine Mei Lian Autea of the Infantry.

By bringing the examination to campus, MSEUF provided aspiring military personnel in the University and surrounding communities with a more accessible venue for completing an important step toward military service. The initiative also strengthened collaboration between the University and the AFP in supporting career development and public service opportunities.

Hosting the AFPSAT further expanded the University’s career placement initiatives by connecting prospective applicants with a direct pathway to opportunities in national defense and military service.

The activity supported MSEUF’s commitment to career readiness and community service by providing students, alumni and local applicants with accessible opportunities to pursue careers in public service. It also reflected the core values of Service, Excellence and Fortitude through institutional collaboration and support for individuals preparing for demanding professional pathways.

  • SDG 4: Quality Education — The initiative complemented career development efforts by providing applicants with access to an assessment required for a potential professional pathway.
  • SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth — Hosting the examination improved access to career opportunities in military and public service.
  • SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals — The activity strengthened cooperation between MSEUF and the Armed Forces of the Philippines in facilitating career opportunities for students, alumni and community members.
