MSEUF Concert Singers mark 50th anniversary with alumni concert

The Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) Concert Singers and its alumni association held a golden anniversary concert titled “Pag-tanaw, Pagtan-aw” on December 12, 2024, at the MSEUF Gymnasium.

Current and former members of the group performed together in the commemorative event, which highlighted 50 years of choral tradition at the university. The concert featured selected pieces from the group’s repertoire, showcasing its development since its founding.

“This is a celebration of our shared history,” said Ms. Maria Isabel Granada, one of the alumni organizers. “We came together to sing not just for ourselves but for what this group stands for.”

The concert included performances from the High Strings Orchestra and the Banyuhay Dance Troupe. Their participation brought together various university-based performance groups in one program.

“This event united different generations of Envergans who have kept the choral tradition alive,” said Sir Hubert Loresto, the group's conductor. “It’s not just a performance—it’s a commitment to continuing what was started 50 years ago.”

Organizers transformed the MSEUF Gymnasium into a concert venue using upgraded sound, lighting, and stage systems to accommodate the event. Alumni from different batches attended and performed, many of whom flew in from various parts of the Philippines and abroad.

MSEUF’s Office of Student Affairs and Culture and Arts Unit supported the event, emphasizing the university’s mission to develop well-rounded individuals who contribute to community and national development. The concert aligned with MSEUF’s core values of excellence, unity, and service through the promotion of cultural expression.

The university's vision to become globally competitive includes strengthening arts and cultural programs that foster identity and global understanding. The concert further reflected MSEUF’s educational philosophy of holistic development through intellectual, emotional, and social growth.
