General reference sources include the following:
1. Dictionaries give information about the words, spelling, pronunciation, derivation, usage, meanings, syllabication, current status, synonyms and antonyms, historical information, etc.
2. Encyclopedias provide background information in all fields of knowledge.
3. Geographical sources are described as tools that provide information about geography, like the atlases, maps, gazetteers, and guide books.
4. Yearbooks and almanacs are annual compendium of dates and statistics of a given year, while almanacs are annual publication of statistics and other information that will inevitably cover information of the previous years.
5. Biographical sources contain biographical sketches of factual information about the lives of persons, arranged alphabetically by their surnames.
6. Handbooks are handy reference sources that provide miscellaneous information about a specific area of interest or topic.
7. Manuals are sources that contain instruction on how to do any activity.
8. Directories list names of persons, or organizations, usually arranged in alphabetical order which provide information such as addresses, telephone numbers, etc.
9. Indexes indicate where to look for information.
10. Other reference sources are books covering all major fields divisions that are reference in nature, for consultation and information purposes, rather than for circulation.
SERVICES:
Reference/Information Service provides assistance to readers in connection with their research needs, from the simplest to the complex inquiries.
Research Advisory Service advises the users/clienteles on what and how to of materials to use in their researchers, term papers, reports, etc.
Users awareness Service informs the students about the sources and services available.
Displays, exhibits, etc. attract and encourage the use of the section.
FILIPINIANA SECTION
The Filipiniana Section has the same function as the Reference Section, except that it consists of materials that are Filipiniana in nature, materials about the Philippines, regardless of the author, imprint or format, except works written by Filipinos treating universally accepted ideas like statistics, mathematics, physics, etc.
COLLECTION:
The Filipiniana Section also houses publication about the Philippines, in its entire aspects – cultural, political, social, religious, economics and others – regardless of author and imprint.
The collection covers an adequate range of reading materials designed to meet the instructional and research needs of the library users. It includes vertical files or clippings. The section provides the accessibility to search articles from newspapers in DVD format. The procedure for the search is in the Periodicals Section.
The section also houses the undergraduate theses (print and non-print) of the different colleges.

Only, the Filipiniana Section consists of materials that are Filipiniana in nature, that is, materials about the Philippines, regardless of the author, imprint or format, except works written by Filipinos treating universally accepted ideas like statistics, mathematics, physics, etc.
Objectives:
1. To furnish needed information that can be supplied by Filipiniana materials;
2. To familiarize students with the various types of Filipiniana materials;
3. To develop among users the skills on the use of Filipiniana resources; and
4. To make users become aware and appreciate them as well as materials about the Philippines.
