Students from the College of International Hospitality and Tourism Management at Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation joined a cruise industry immersion aboard Costa Serena from March 6 to 11, 2025, where Dean Maricel Herrera and Dr. Jennifer Reyes accompanied the students during the international exposure trip.

The itinerary covered onboard operations and tourism experiences across two countries. The activity began in Manila and concluded in Hong Kong.

“We learned how different departments on a cruise ship work together to provide seamless service,” said Dr. Reyes. “It was a valuable complement to the theories taught in class.”

The vessel familiarization tour provided students with behind-the-scenes access to cruise ship operations. They also experienced fine dining and buffet services, participated in various leisure activities, and observed casino service operations.

“We didn’t just travel—we learned how luxury tourism functions from the inside,” said Dean Herrera. “It gave our students a concrete picture of international hospitality standards.”

During the Hong Kong leg, the group explored Mongkok Night Market, joined a city tour, and visited Hong Kong Disneyland using day passes.
