Enverga University, OpeniT, partner for four-week tech bootcamp in full stack dev, data science

Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) and OpeniT Asia Inc. conducted the Open iT Development Bootcamp to strengthen students’ industry-ready skills in full stack development and data science through lectures, workshops, guided exercises and capstone projects, May 4-29.

The four-week bootcamp formed part of the academic-industry collaboration between MSEUF and OpeniT Asia Inc., formalized through a memorandum of agreement signed by University President and Chief Operating Officer Naila Leveriza and OpeniT Asia Inc. Branch Representative Rod Julius Zamora.

The program introduced participants to real-world development tools, workflows and best practices. It also provided hands-on training designed to bridge classroom learning with practical industry application.

The bootcamp offered two tracks: Full Stack Development and Data Science. The Full Stack Track instructors were Jhon Angelo Virtucio, senior software developer I; Clarice Salanda, senior software developer I; John Lyndon Philip Planas, senior software developer II; and Alexander Maralit, instructor from the College of Computing and Multimedia Studies (CCMS).

The Data Science Track instructors were Sam Lagrosas, associate data scientist; Andrew Purio, full stack developer; Rod Julius Zamora, research director; and Mary Meliza Parcon, CCMS instructor.

Students under the Full Stack Track were Paul Vincent Aguirre, Lester Adriane Altamira, John Ray Buenaobra, Ron Vincent Cada, Kyla Dessiree Dequito, Ace Vincent Gamitin, Kurt Patrick Laja, Joachim Nicholo Martinez, Rene Lorenzo Pitahin, Paolo Ragudo, Marc Neil Tagle, Limmuel Jay Valdez, Roosc Zaño and Jhon Lloyd Montalbo Valencia.

Students under the Data Science Track were Althea Trisha Mae Aringo, Aron Carlo Balasta, Iggy Michael Cadeliña, Daryll Cris Celestial, Roselle Jean DeLeon, Desiree Ann Ferrer, Margarette Ann Leynes, Iris Kate Manilag, Eduard Matubaran, Princess Lyn Oabel, Nikolas Jon Peña, Rayson Remolona, Vaux Sean Wesley SanPascual and Rodmark Bernard Villa.

Recognized as top performers in the Full Stack Track were Aguirre, Cada, Ragudo, Tagle, Valdez and Zaño. Cada and Tagle also received the Best in Capstone award for their project, “Sidekick.”

In the Data Science Track, Balasta, Matubaran, Oabel, Peña and Villa were named top performers. Celestial and Remolona received the Best in Capstone award for their project, “Enverga Admission AI.”

The bootcamp supported MSEUF’s continuing efforts to provide experiential learning opportunities that prepare students for professional practice in technology-driven industries. Through the partnership, students gained exposure to technical training, project development and industry-based mentoring.

The initiative reflected MSEUF’s commitment to Excellence, Service and Fortitude by helping students build practical competencies, professional confidence and readiness for emerging careers in computing and data-driven fields. It also supported the University’s goal of producing graduates equipped with research-based knowledge, leadership skills and professionalism.
