Cyber Envergan among Top Performers at HackForGov '25

Ron Vincent Cada, a BS Information Technology student from the College of Computing and Multimedia Studies, earned  one of the Top Performers award at the HackForGov 2025 Capture-the-Flag Calabarzon leg.

Held at Holiday Inn & Suites in Malvar, Batangas, Cada showcased sharp cyber defense skills under the theme Cyber Guardians: Empowering Today’s Defenders, Securing Tomorrow’s Digital Nation, Oct. 6.

Cada solved exploitation, network forensics and web security challenges during timed rounds that simulated real-world threats.

College of Computing and Multimedia Studies dean Rodrigo Belleza Jr. commended the result and urged peers to join future cyber defense drills.

“Our student proved that grit, teamwork and disciplined practice can match fast-evolving threats,” Belleza said.

Asst. Prof. Cheeky Rose Villamarzo served as coach and guided the preparation of Cada.

“We will turn this momentum into deeper labs and more red–blue exercises so more Envergans can compete at the highest level,” Villamarzo said.

This achievement advanced MSEUF’s mission to deliver outcomes-oriented, student-centered learning by applying classroom theory to authentic cybersecurity scenarios. It reflected the core values of Excellence through high-level performance, Fortitude under pressure and Unity through coach–student collaboration that lifts the whole cohort.
