Enverga University conducts first quarter earthquake drill


Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation conducted its 1st Quarter Earthquake Drill at 3:30 p.m. on March 17 to strengthen disaster preparedness, safety awareness and emergency response within the university community.
The activity was spearheaded by the Sustainability Department through its Health and Safety Unit, in collaboration with the University Disaster and Emergency Response Team, Occupational Safety and Health Committee, EMME Security Team and communication students from the College of Arts and Sciences.
The drill highlighted the life-saving “duck, cover and hold” procedure and the importance of proper and orderly evacuation to designated safe areas.
Faculty members, employees, students and outsourced personnel actively participated in the activity, helping promote a culture of preparedness, resilience and safety across the campus.
Immediately after the drill, the Sustainability Department and UDERT conducted a comprehensive evaluation to assess response effectiveness, identify strengths and determine areas for continuous improvement.
Through the activity, MSEUF reinforced its commitment to building a safer and more resilient university environment through regular disaster preparedness initiatives and multi-sectoral collaboration.
The activity reflected MSEUF’s commitment to protecting the well-being of its community through proactive safety programs and responsible campus management. It also upheld the core values of Mindfulness, Service, Unity and Fortitude as university personnel and students worked together to strengthen readiness and resilience.
