MSEUF hosts Career Talk Show to guide Basic Ed students career planning
To provide students with career insights from industry professionals, the Office of Scholarships, Endowment, Job Placement, and Alumni Relations (OSEJPAR) and Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) through the Basic Education Department Guidance and Testing Office (BED-GTO) organized a Career Talk Show, Jan. 31.

Six professionals from different industries shared their experiences and guidance including Chef Patrick William Nagares, Ar.  Jearlene Lipa, Mara Angeli E. Cadiz, Ms. Dennise Anne Jabola, Engr. Melvin.Alas-as, and Mr. Genrev Gabriel Rodriguez, where they discussed career preparation, industry challenges, and essential skills for professional success.

The Guidance and Testing Office emphasized that career planning does not have to be overwhelming and can be broken down into manageable steps. The Career Talk Show served as a platform to equip students with relevant skills and knowledge for employment.

"Career planning can be a daunting task for many students, but it is a crucial step in shaping their future. By exploring their interests, skills, values, and job preferences, students gain a deeper understanding of their aspirations. To support this process, the Guidance and Testing Office emphasizes that career planning does not have to be overwhelming—it can be broken down into manageable steps through various initiatives," OSAS staff shared.

This activity aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth by equipping youth with relevant skills and knowledge for future employment.
