The Office of Student Affairs and Services, through the Basic Education Guidance and Testing Office, concluded its Psychoeducation Program for selected elementary, junior high school, and senior high school students on Dec. 1 at the BED EMRC.
The final session focused on values-based decision making and emphasized the role of values in shaping students’ character, actions, and relationships. To ensure age-appropriate discussions, separate sessions were conducted for lower grade levels and senior high school students.
Academic Support Staff and guidance facilitator Sherie Anne Gayeta led the session and discussed key Filipino values such as katapatan, pakikipagkapwa-tao, and pakikisama. She also introduced a simple decision-making framework—Stop, Think, Choose, and Do—to help students evaluate choices and align their actions with personal and cultural values.
Through reflective activities, students identified personal goals, the steps needed to achieve them, and the values that would guide their decisions. The exercises encouraged responsible decision making, self-awareness, and accountability.
The program concluded with the awarding of certificates of participation to students who completed all five modules of the Psychoeducation Program for School Year 2025. A photo opportunity followed with the Basic Education guidance counselors and academic support staff.
The program reflects the institution’s commitment to Mindfulness and Service by guiding students toward responsible, values-driven decision making. It also demonstrates Excellence, Unity, and Fortitude as the school supports holistic student development through structured and inclusive guidance initiatives.
