MSEUF CIHTM, overall champion in 16th PH Food Expo 2024

Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) College of International Hospitality and Tourism Management (CITHM) showcased the culinary prowess of faculty and students once again at the 16th Philippine Food Expo Culinary Challenge held at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, on April 12-13.

With 36 participating colleges and universities from across the nation, MSEUF emerged triumphant, securing the overall championship with a back-to-back result. The food expo culinary challenge showcased diverse Filipino flavors, explored traditional and innovative dishes, discovered top-notch local ingredients, and produce, and engaged in technical seminars and live cooking demos.

In the PINASarap Breakfast Challenge, MSEUF’s main competitors namely Chef Reinhold Cerillo, faculty, with students Gerby Daniel Enverga, and alternate Ma. Vibecca Buban, and understudies Katthiana Endo and Russel Sogon emerged as Champion. Shaina Rose Serrado Pondivida and Emmett Hans M. Merene served as students’ coaches.

In Kitchen Masters, MSEUF's main competitors namely Chef Reinhold Cerillo, faculty with students Dave Cedrick Bigyan, and alternate Jerwin Olase, and understudies Alliyah Khent and Henry Gonzales, the team also got the highest rank as champion. Student coaches were Phoebe Jaudines and Maggie C. Sta. Maria, and Hreinz Doie Mayol.

Meanwhile, in the Food Styling and Photography category, MSEUF grabbed 2nd place. The main competitors were Alysa Pacheco, and Nicole Mayor with understudies Wendy Pusag, Faculty coach Chef Reinhold Cerillo, and student coaches Karl Kabanayan Montanez, Karl Andrew Argayoso, and Emmett Hans Merene.

In the PFE Knowledge Challenge, MSEUF Faculty Denmark H. Catan and students Lean Ramos, and Chezca Nanes settled for 3rd place.With their impressive performance at the competition, the MSEUF delegation, led by CITHM dean Dr. Maricel D. Herrera and Dr. Jennifer B. Reyes, once again proved their dedication to culinary excellence and innovation, marking their position as a powerhouse in the field of hospitality and tourism management.
