In its mission to support academic excellence and student growth, the Learning Development Center (LDC) has launched a transformative initiative known as LEAP—the Learning Enhancement and Advancement Program. This year-long intervention program is designed to provide targeted academic support to students across disciplines, helping them overcome learning challenges and reach their full potential.
LEAP is more than just a remedial effort—it is a proactive, student-centered approach that focuses on enhancing foundational skills while also advancing academic competencies. The program offers a range of services, including:
- One-on-one academic coaching tailored to individual learning needs
- Small group tutorials that foster collaborative learning
- Skill-building workshops on study strategies, time management, and critical thinking
- Subject-specific support in areas such as reading comprehension, writing, and mathematics
What sets LEAP apart is its personalized and holistic approach. Each student enrolled in the program undergoes an initial assessment to identify strengths and areas for improvement. Based on this, a customized learning plan is developed, with regular progress monitoring and mentor feedback.
The program also emphasizes confidence-building and motivation, recognizing that academic success is deeply tied to a student’s mindset and self-belief. Through consistent mentoring and encouragement, LEAP helps students develop not only their academic skills but also their resilience and self-efficacy.
Students who have participated in LEAP report noticeable improvements in their academic performance, study habits, and overall engagement in learning. Faculty mentors, in turn, have observed increased student confidence and a stronger sense of accountability.
As the LDC continues to expand the reach of LEAP, it remains committed to its vision of creating an inclusive and empowering learning environment—one where every student has the opportunity to thrive.
