TSUKIDEN Ph signs partnership with MSEUF

The President of TSUKIDEN Philippines recently visited Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) to renew the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between TSUKIDEN Philippines and MSEUF.

President Edgardo Etac, accompanied by the company’s administrative manager, Ms. Luzviminda Arcenas, and HR Supervisor, Ms. Jennifer Monteza arrived at MSEUF on March 5, 2024.

TSUKIDEN Electronics Philippines, a prominent Japanese company, is a key electronic manufacturing service provider in the Philippines, specializing in surface mount technology up to the final product assembly. Having established its presence in the Philippines in 2014, the company is located at Laguna Technopark. 

TSUKIDEN Philippines has actively participated in the MSEUF Job Fair and conducted local recruitment activities.

During their visit, President Etac and his team were warmly welcomed at the Executive Office by Vice President for External Relations Celso D. Jaballa and Vice President for Administration Dario R. Opistan, along with Director Ma. Isabel D. Granada of the Office of Job Placement, Scholarship & Endowment, and Alumni Relations. 

The discussions primarily focused on industry demands and the crucial role of academe-industry networks in providing practical and pedagogical strategies to address prevailing labor and employment gaps. 

Mr. Etac emphasized that the challenge lies not in quantity but in the quality of the workforce, specifically the skills required by the industry. B

oth Vice President Jaballa and Vice President Opistan agreed on the necessity for upskilling, especially as industries introduce new machinery and equipment. They also stressed the importance of instilling accuracy, thoroughness, and strong work ethics in students.

Following the meeting at the executive office, Director Granada escorted the visitors to the College of Engineering. There, they engaged in a meaningful dialogue with Dean Engr. Cielito Maligalig, and the college’s program chairs, focusing on faculty and student immersion programs, as well as the opportunities for summer internships. Additionally, arrangements were made for a plant visit to TSUKIDEN, allowing faculty and students to observe the current manufacturing industry setup.
