Lucena City, Philippines – Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) recently conducted a Career Awareness Seminar themed “Enhancing Employability” for 427 first-year students across various colleges, Oct. 10

The event aimed to guide students in aligning their college education with future career paths while emphasizing the importance of developing both technical and interpersonal skills during their stay at the University.

The seminar focused on helping students explore their potential vocations, set achievable career goals, and match their skills with suitable professions.

The Director of the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS), Joana Fe B. Panganiban, opened the event by emphasizing the need for setting clear goals and priorities.

“We must learn how to set priorities as to why you have chosen your courses in the first place. This small but measurable step helps you form a personal vision of what success is,” Panganiban shared, inspiring students to take intentional steps toward career planning.

Maria Isabel Granada, Director of the Office of Student Employment, Job Placement, and Alumni Relations (OSEJPAR), introduced the university’s partnership with the Wadhwani Foundation.

Granada urged students to engage with career inventory modules designed to assess their competencies in areas such as communication, digital literacy, and entrepreneurial thinking. Completing the modules, which cover 11 topics, will earn students a certificate they can include in their professional portfolios.

Kim Chua, Managing Director of Jobs180.com, led a session on “Building Essential Skills and Characteristics Towards Career Success.” Chua highlighted the importance of personal values and teamwork in career building, particularly for Gen Z students.

“In whatever organization you choose to be part of, remember that all of them demand a combination of technical knowledge and work ethics. This is the ingredient that enables every worker to grow and excel in their professional lives,” Chua emphasized.

The event also included the awarding of certificates to the top performers of the 2024 College Entrance Examinations, recognizing their academic excellence and encouraging others to aim high in their academic journey.

Through the event, MSEUF reinforced its commitment to fostering career readiness and employability, ensuring that students not only excel academically but also develop the skills and mindset required to thrive in their chosen professions.
