CEd's Maestro Musika strikes chord of victory in Battle of the Bands
The 77th Founding Anniversary Celebration of the University resonated with the electrifying tunes of the Battle of the Bands competition, where musical talents from various departments took center stage on Valentine's Day at the University Gymnasium.
The Maestro Musika from the College of Education whose rock rendition of Freddie Aguilar's “Anak” and original song “Palasyong Puti” captivated the audience and earned them the championship title.
Second place was the College of Arts and Sciences Xscape Band that mesmerized the crowd with renditions of “Kilometro” by Sarah Geronimo and their original composition “Pamungkas.”
Claiming third place was Hospitality Groove from the College of International Hospitality and Tourism Management who fired up the stage with their energetic rendition of Gloc 9 and KZ Tandingan’s “Upuan” and an original composition titled “Lahat,”’ which resonated with the audience.
Adding to the excitement were guest performers Jolo and Manelle, who showcased their slick and groovy persona with the song “Balewala,” while Kapit Productions Executive Producer Ippo Huwano delivered a stunning performance with his new song “Halika Na,” capturing the hearts of the audience.
The competition was judged by seasoned musicians and industry professionals including Ippo Huwano, Amz Condonar, Jam Labitigan, Cloe Lorezca, and Alia Burilla, who praised the talents on display and added to the excitement of the event.
