Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation strengthened its global collaboration efforts through the participation of Jennifer Reyes in the WURI Global Mentor 2026 program held at the NCNU Living Lab, May 7.

Reyes represented MSEUF and served as one of the key facilitators during the WURI Mentorship and Learning Sessions. As a WURI Global Mentor, she guided 16 aspiring Certified WURI Mentors from the Philippines, Brazil and Germany, supporting their learning journey in mentorship, leadership and transformative education.

The activity gathered educators and professionals attending the 6th HLU and WURI Global Conference 2026. Participants exchanged ideas, strengthened mentorship practices and explored ways to create learning experiences with real-world impact.

One of the highlights of the program was the session “Ten Tips for Mentors and Aspiring Mentors,” presented by WURI Chair Kyung Sung Kim and Aldrin Darilag. The 15-minute discussion emphasized leadership, communication, empathy and continuous learning as essential qualities of effective mentors.

After the session, participants joined a 45-minute table discussion that encouraged collaboration and meaningful dialogue among aspiring mentors. The learning sessions concluded with a 30-minute group presentation where each table shared insights from their discussions.

Reyes facilitated Table 2, which focused on “Effective Mentorship Practices.” The group discussed how mentorship can be structured effectively, how mentors can improve mentee engagement, what tools can support successful mentorship and how common mentorship challenges can be addressed.

Participants emphasized the importance of clear goals, open communication, trust and personalized guidance in building effective mentor-mentee relationships. They also identified practical strategies such as reflective discussions, collaborative projects, regular feedback sessions and digital platforms to support cross-border mentorship.

The group also discussed common challenges, including communication gaps, differing expectations, limited time and sustaining engagement. Proposed solutions included structured mentorship frameworks, cultural sensitivity and consistent follow-up systems.

Through Reyes’ participation and leadership, MSEUF continued to strengthen its international presence and reaffirmed its commitment to transformative education, global collaboration and leadership development.

The university’s engagement in the WURI Global Mentor 2026 program reflected its dedication to empowering future mentors and education leaders who can inspire innovation, inclusivity and positive change across countries.

The activity aligned with Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation’s vision of becoming a globally competitive university and its commitment to transformative, student-centered and outcomes-oriented education. It also reflected the core values of Excellence, Unity and Fortitude by advancing international mentorship, intercultural learning and leadership development.
