MSEUF, Thai university discuss student mobility, quality assessment initiatives

Advancing international student mobility, faculty development and quality assurance initiatives, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation academic leaders met with Dr. Jonathan Carreon, vice president for academics of Huachiew Chalermprakiet University in Samut Prakan, Thailand, on July 30 to discuss expanded academic collaboration and preparations for the next ASIA Quality Rating Assessment.

Dr. Jennifer Reyes, head of Global Engagement and Linkages, opened the meeting at the GEL Office, with discussions continuing at The Café 1947. Joining the consultation were Dr. Maricel Herrera, dean of the College of International Hospitality and Tourism Management; Dr. Henedina Lagumen, dean of the College of Criminal Justice and Criminology; Dr. Maria Corazon Valdeavilla, dean of the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences; and Dr. Carmina Tolentino, program chair of CNAHS.

The meeting reviewed previous international student mobility evaluation results and discussed the proposed schedule of mobility activities for school year 2026-27. Participants also explored inbound student mobility programs and faculty immersion opportunities between MSEUF and HCU.

The consultation also formed part of the University’s preparation for the next ASIA Quality Rating Assessment. Discussions focused on initiatives to strengthen internationalization and address requirements and performance indicators under the ASEAN University Network–Health Promotion Management framework.

Participants also discussed research productivity and the importance of scholarly publication in supporting institutional quality and international visibility, including opportunities to increase research outputs in Scopus-indexed journals.

The meeting reinforced continuing academic engagement between MSEUF and HCU and identified opportunities to expand student mobility, faculty development, research collaboration and quality assurance initiatives across participating academic programs.
