MSEUF, Sejong University advance partnership through academic exchange

Strengthening international collaboration in tourism, hospitality and research, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation advanced its partnership with Sejong University of South Korea from a memorandum of understanding toward a memorandum of agreement as the College of International Hospitality and Tourism Management continued academic exchange activities on Aug. 4.

As part of the partnership initiatives, MSEUF welcomed Dr. Seul Ki Lee of Sejong University and Dr. Sean Jung of Boston University in the United States as guest lecturers during the 7th CIHTM Tourism and Hospitality Research Series at the CCJC Seminar Hall.

Dr. Lee delivered a session on research and publication, while Dr. Jung discussed data analytics and understanding data science. More than 200 CIHTM research students attended the seminar, gaining exposure to research practices and analytical approaches from international academics.

The Aug. 4 activity followed an academic visit to Sejong University on June 13, when the MSEUF Culinary Team participated in a school visit, benchmarking activity and campus tour. The delegation included CIHTM Dean Dr. Maricel Herrera; Dr. Jennifer Reyes, head of Global Engagement and Linkages; Chef Reinhold Cerillo; Chef Carell Cerillo; and alumnus Hans Emmet Merene.

The earlier visit provided opportunities to strengthen academic and cultural connections and explore further collaboration in hospitality, tourism and culinary education.

Through the continuing exchanges, MSEUF and Sejong University expanded opportunities for faculty and students to engage in internationally oriented research, academic learning and institutional collaboration.
