MSEUF, Bali Tourism Polytechnic strengthen ties through academic visit

Expanding international opportunities for academic exchange, research and student mobility, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation welcomed a delegation from Bali Tourism Polytechnic of Indonesia for an institutional academic visit on Aug. 25.

The College of International Hospitality and Tourism Management and the Global Engagement and Linkages Office hosted the visit, which began at 10 a.m. at the Institute of Graduate Studies and Research Conference Room. Dr. Maricel Herrera, CIHTM dean, and Dr. Jennifer Reyes, head of Global Engagement and Linkages, facilitated discussions with the visiting delegation.

Representing MSEUF were Acting Senior Vice President Atty. Dario Opistan, Acting Vice President for Academics and Research Dr. Claudia Odette Ayala, Vice President for External Relations Celso Jaballa, Vice President for Finance and Treasury Carlito Rodriguez, Dr. Reyes and Dr. Herrera. CIHTM program heads Prof. Analuna Bonina and Prof. Rose Anne Reyes also shared information on the college’s academic programs and institutional practices.

The BiTP delegation included Director Dr. Drs. Ida Bagus Putu Puja; Dr. Luh Yusni Wiarti, vice director for cooperation and student affairs; Dr. I Putu Utama, head of International Affairs BiTP-Global; and Ni Putu Ariesta Budiani, head of the Professional Certification Institute.

The institutional dialogue explored cooperation in academic exchange, internationalization, tourism and hospitality education, research, faculty and student engagement, and the sharing of institutional practices. Participants also discussed EU FLIGHT as an avenue for student mobility, faculty exchange, research collaboration and joint publication.

A ceremonial memorandum of understanding signing and photo opportunity followed the discussions. The delegation later joined University officials and faculty members for lunch at Café 1947 before taking part in a campus tour led by faculty tour guide Denmark Catan and Dr. Reyes.

During the benchmarking tour, the delegates visited the College of International Hospitality and Tourism Management, Global Engagement and Linkages Office, University Libraries and Office of Student Affairs. The visit allowed both institutions to exchange practices in academic support, international engagement, student development, library services, and tourism and hospitality education while exploring further opportunities for collaboration.

The visit supported the University’s vision of global competitiveness by strengthening international academic partnerships and creating pathways for student and faculty mobility, research collaboration and knowledge exchange. It also reflected the core values of Excellence and Unity through sustained engagement with an international partner and the sharing of practices that can enrich teaching, research and student development.
