To help students understand their legal rights and responsibilities, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) held “Kabataang May Alam, Kabataang Ligtas: Empowering Youth Through Legal Education, Justice, and Community Service” on Sept. 26, at the University Gymnasium.
The National Service Training Program–Civic Welfare Training Service (NSTP-CWTS) organized the seminar with Enverga Law School’s Clinical Legal Education Program and the Philippine Air Force. The activity formed part of the CWTS module on national security concerns.
Atty. Cryzal-Lyn Guese-Rosales discussed the legal consequences of social media posts, while Atty. Rae Roselle Gammad covered the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act. Atty. Mark Christian Apordo addressed youth awareness and responsibility in national security, and Atty. Carmen Aldovino presented “Honesto Notario.”
Red Pajaro of the Operations Division of the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency Region IV-A also delivered a lecture on national security and the role of young people in nation-building.
Alongside the lectures, the Integrated Bar of the Philippines–Quezon Chapter offered free legal consultations to interested students. Open forums and question-and-answer sessions allowed participants to clarify concepts and raise concerns.
Community Extension and NSTP head Dr. Milagrosa Lawas and CWTS Coordinator Benedict Tordillos joined the program. Acting Senior Vice President and Vice President for Administration Atty. Dario Opistan delivered a special message.
Other partners included the Rotary Club of Metro Lucena, Rotaract Club of Lucena South and Hermano Puli Titanium Eagles Club. The program concluded with the presentation of certificates to the guest speakers.
The seminar supported MSEUF’s commitment to education and community service by connecting classroom learning with practical legal guidance. It reflected Mindfulness through its focus on responsible decisions, Service through free legal consultations, and Unity through cooperation among University units and community partners.
- SDG 4: Quality Education. The lectures and open forums provided students with practical learning on legal rights, digital responsibility and citizenship.
- SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. Legal education and free consultations promoted awareness of rights, responsibilities and access to legal guidance.
- SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. University units, legal practitioners, government representatives and civic organizations worked together to deliver the program.
