Strengthening research collaboration for social development, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) participated in the Research Forum for Partner Higher Education Institutions on Oct. 16, 2025, at Noni’s Resort in Alitagtag, Batangas.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through its Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) Management Office–CALABARZON, organized the forum to connect academic research with the implementation of the program.
Community Extension Head Dr. Milagrosa Lawas and College of Architecture and Fine Arts community extension coordinator Melba Sardea represented MSEUF. Participants also included DSWD division chief Nellibeth Mercado and representatives from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines’ Unisan and Lopez campuses and Southern Luzon State University’s Lucban and Tiaong campuses.
The forum focused on mapping research engagements among partner institutions, promoting commitment to the 4Ps Research Agenda and developing academic partners’ understanding of research protocols and guidelines.
These discussions emphasized the role of evidence-based studies in informing programs, policies and interventions for 4Ps beneficiaries and their communities. MSEUF’s participation supported its work in research-driven community extension and collaboration with social development partners.
The activity supported MSEUF’s mission by connecting research and community extension with documented social development priorities. It reflected Service through attention to the needs of 4Ps beneficiaries and Unity through collaboration among government and academic institutions.
- SDG 1: No Poverty. The forum addressed research supporting 4Ps implementation and interventions for program beneficiaries.
- SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. The activity brought government and academic institutions together to coordinate research and share knowledge for social development.
