Enverga Mauban secures first victory in Newtown Basketball League
The Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation Mauban Basketball Team opened its campaign in the Newtown Basketball League with an 86–47 victory over the Blaze Titans at Barangay Bagong Bayan, Mauban, Quezon, May 26.
The league gathered local basketball teams in a community tournament that promoted sportsmanship, teamwork, and community engagement.
Enverga Mauban controlled the game from the opening quarter, setting the pace through coordinated offensive plays and disciplined defense. The team's consistent execution on both ends of the court limited the Blaze Titans' scoring opportunities while steadily extending its lead throughout the match.
The convincing performance resulted in an 86–47 win, giving Enverga Mauban its first victory in the tournament and an encouraging start to its campaign.
According to Bagong Bayan Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman Lawrence Jugueta, the tournament aims to strengthen sports development among athletes and encourage greater participation in sports among the youth of Mauban. The opening game generated enthusiasm among players, supporters, and community members as the competition officially got underway.
The Newtown Basketball League continues to provide local athletes with opportunities to develop their skills, compete in an organized setting, and promote camaraderie through sports.
