Fourth leg of Chairman’s Cup stretches in San Antonio

As all six teams competed for the last remaining spot for the semifinals in the 4th Chairman’s Cup, the final round of elimination games unfolded at the San Antonio Sports Complex. Student-athletes, school heads, and local leaders once again gathered for this decisive stage of the tournament.

Enverga-Lucena Wildcats, Enverga-Sampaloc Lynx, and Enverga-Candelaria Jaguars conquered their games as they closed out the elimination round.

Lucena Wildcats defeated the Catanauan Panthers with a final score of 33-63, while Sampaloc Lynx earned a 75-64 win over the Calauag Bobcats. Finally, the Candelaria Jaguars ended the day with a 73-45 victory against the San Antonio Cheetahs.

As the fifteen games concluded, the semifinal matchups were officially set. For Game 1, Lucena Wildcats will face the Catanauan Panthers, while the Sampaloc Lynx and Candelaria Jaguars will compete against each other in Game 2. 

Prior to the games, MSEIFI-San Antonio Principal Rosaida Cueva gave the welcoming remarks, thanking the participating schools and welcoming the guests and officials. Another message followed from Coordinator of Affiliate Schools Dr. Amelita O. Balagtas who spoke on the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie still being alive in Enverga.

San Antonio Mayor Erick Wagan also gave a message in front of the students, who encouraged the students and recounted his experiences as an Enverga alumni.

The opening ceremony ended with special performances from the San Antonio Cheetahs, the MSEIFI Drum and Lyre Band, and selected Enverga-San Antonio students.
