Served as a brief break for the faculty while reinforcing collaboration among team members, the faculty members of the College of Computing and Multimedia Studies (CCMS) capped off a week-long departmental activity with a team building session held at FarmKo Agri-Tourism Farm in Dolores, Quezon, July 4-5.

Department Chairperson Assoc. Prof. Donabell Hernandez and Confidential Staff Sherry Anne Abrigo organized the activity in FarmKo; which is known for practicing sustainable tourism and eco-friendly farming methods which  promotes responsible land use, supports local employment, and educates visitors on the value of natural farming.

According to Chairperson Hernandez, the off-campus event allowed the faculty to recharge and strengthen their relationships after a productive and intensive work week.

“This activity aims to give everyone a short break from academic work and to strengthen our camaraderie as a department,” Hernandez said.

"FamKo's operations echo the sustainability efforts promoted by the University—making it a fitting venue to cap off a week of academic planning and quality assurance work."

The series of departmental activities began on July 1 with the Year-End Review for Academic Year 2024–2025 and the Strategic Goals and Operational Plans Workshop for AY 2025–2026. The review evaluated the department’s accomplishments over the past year and helped align goals for the upcoming academic year. Faculty members identified key performance areas, assessed current indicators, and established actionable plans to meet institutional objectives.

On July 2, the department conducted a Program Advisory Board (PAB) Seminar-Workshop and Curriculum Review. CCMS invited alumni and industry representatives to take part in evaluating the relevance of the current curriculum. The workshop provided insights into trends in computing and multimedia industries, helping faculty members update course content and teaching strategies to better align with workforce demands.

The following day, July 3, was dedicated to the preparation of the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program for AUN-QA (ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance). Faculty underwent training sessions on the AUN-QA framework, including documentation, evidence mapping, and narrative report writing. The workshop aimed to prepare CCMS for the rigorous assessment and documentation process required by regional quality assurance standards.

On the morning of July 4, the department also held a PICAB (Philippine Computer Society (PCS) Information and Computing Accreditation Board) preparation workshop. Faculty members were briefed on the accreditation requirements and focused on aligning course outcomes, program objectives, and institutional goals to PICAB standards. This preparation supports the department’s goal to secure future accreditation and program recognition.

In the afternoon, faculty members proceeded to FarmKo for their team building activity.
