MSEUF wins back-to-back victory; Team GitGood wins 1st place in OpeniT Codefest 2025

For the second consecutive year, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) clinched 1st Place at the OpeniT Hackathon Codefest 2025, with Team GitGood taking the top spot in this year’s 27-hour hackathon held on July 12–13 at the OpeniT Office, Lucena City.
This marks a back-to-back win for MSEUF, following last year’s championship by a different student team. Team GitGood’s victory is a proud continuation of the University’s strong tradition of excellence in computing and innovation.
The team, composed of Voltaire Parraba Jr., and Ron Vincent Cada, and Romina Victoria Salapare, incoming third-year Information Technology students from the College of Computing and Multimedia Studies (CCMS)—secured the Php 20,000 cash prize after outshining nine other teams from five academic institutions across Quezon Province.
Competing schools included Dalubhasaan ng Lungsod ng Lucena (DLL), STI College, St. Anne College of Lucena, Southern Luzon State University (SLSU), and MSEUF. Each school fielded two teams, totaling ten participants in this year’s competition.
With the theme “Next Level Code: Refining Good into Great,” Codefest 2025 challenged student programmers to go beyond the basics and deliver solutions that showcase ingenuity, technical skill, and collaboration. Running from 10:00 AM of July 12 to 1:00 PM of July 13, the competition tested endurance, problem-solving, and real-time application development.
"We’re incredibly proud of Team GitGood for representing the Envergan spirit of innovation and resilience,” said Assoc. Prof. Rodrigo C. Belleza Jr., Dean of the CCMS.
“This back-to-back win proves that MSEUF continues to shape future-ready tech leaders capable of competing and thriving in the digital landscape."
The OpeniT Codefest remains one of the most awaited tech events in Quezon Province, empowering students to apply their knowledge in dynamic, real-world challenges while building networks with peers and industry professionals.
