CCMS faculty strengthen AI expertise at AICon Manila 2026

Strengthening faculty competencies in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, a delegation from the College of Computing and Multimedia Studies of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation participated in AICon Manila 2026 on Aug. 25 at SPACE at One Ayala in Makati City.
Led by CCMS Dean Rodrigo Belleza Jr., the delegation included Assoc. Prof. Donabell Hernandez, program chair of the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology; Asst. Prof. Cheeky Rose Villamarzo, program chair of the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science; Engr. Roselyn Maaño, head of the Research Publication, Incubation and Utilization Center and CCMS faculty member; and Asst. Prof. John Rover Sinag, head of the Center for Marketing Innovation and Digital Engagement and CCMS faculty members Assoc. Prof. Susana De Castro, Asst. Prof. David Eric Oreta, Ins. Meliza Parcon, Lecturer Eleazer Salanda, and Senior Confidential Staff Sherry Ann Abrigo.
With the theme “Human by Design: Building the AI Future We Choose,” the one-day conference brought together educators, researchers, industry professionals and technology leaders for discussions on the evolving applications of artificial intelligence in education, business, governance and innovation.
The CCMS delegation attended keynote presentations, panel discussions and breakout sessions on AI governance, responsible AI implementation, workforce readiness, emerging technologies and real-world applications. The faculty members also engaged with professionals from academia, industry and government to gain perspectives on current developments and practices in the field.
Insights from the conference can support the college’s continuing work in instruction, research, curriculum enhancement and other academic initiatives. The exposure to current AI developments also provided faculty members with additional perspectives for preparing students for changing demands in computing, multimedia and the digital workforce.
Through its participation, CCMS strengthened its continuing professional development efforts and its engagement with emerging technologies that can inform teaching, research and technology-driven initiatives within the University.
The activity supported the University’s commitment to excellence in teaching, research-based knowledge and outcomes-oriented education by keeping faculty members informed of developments in artificial intelligence and related technologies. It also advanced MSEUF’s vision of global competitiveness by strengthening faculty capacity to prepare students for evolving professional and technological environments.
