To strengthen account security for all Envergans, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation uses Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for Microsoft accounts.
Aside from Microsoft Authenticator, you may also use the Google Authenticator app to securely verify your sign-ins. This guide will help students and employees set up Google Authenticator on their mobile device for their MSEUF Microsoft account.
Before starting, make sure you have:
- Your mobile phone or tablet
- Internet connection
- Access to your MSEUF Microsoft account credentials
- The Google Authenticator app installed on your device
This guide is intended for:
- Students using
<studentnumber>@student.mseuf.edu.ph - Employees using
<username>@mseuf.edu.ph
Instructions
Step 1 — Sign In to Your MSEUF Microsoft Account
Open your preferred web browser such as:
- Google Chrome
- Microsoft Edge
- Safari
- Mozilla Firefox
Go to:
outlook.office.com
Enter your MSEUF email address:
- Students:
<studentnumber>@student.mseuf.edu.ph - Employees:
<username>@mseuf.edu.ph
Click Next, enter your password, then click Sign in.
Step 2 — Choose a Different Authentication App
After signing in, you will see the screen titled:
“Let’s keep your account secure”
Click the Next button.
You will then see the:
“Install Microsoft Authenticator” screen.
Important:
- Do not click the download button
- Do not click the Next button
Instead:
- Click the link:
“Set up a different authentication app”
Step 2.1 — Install Google Authenticator
If you do not have the Google Authenticator app yet:
- Open the:
- Google Play Store (Android)
- Apple App Store (iPhone/iPad)
- Search for:
Google Authenticator - Tap Install or Download
Wait for the installation to finish.
Step 2.2 — Set Up the Google Authenticator App
Open the Google Authenticator app.
Follow these steps:
- Tap Get started
- On the:
“Welcome to Google Authenticator” screen - Tap:
“Use authenticator without an account”
This will take you to the app dashboard.
Step 3 — Open the Manual Setup Option
Return to your browser.
On the:
“Set up your account in app” screen
Click the Next button.
You will then see the:
“Scan the QR code” screen.
Since scanning the QR code may be difficult on the same device:
- Click:
“Can’t scan the QR code?” - Do not click the Next button yet
This will display the manual setup details needed for Google Authenticator.
Step 4 — Add the Account in Google Authenticator
Open the Google Authenticator app again.
If this is your first account:
- Tap Add a code
- Tap:
“Enter a setup key”
If you already have existing accounts in the app:
- Tap the Plus (+) button at the bottom-right corner
- Select:
“Enter a setup key”
Step 5 — Enter the Account Details
You should now see the:
“Enter account details” screen
The app will ask for:
- Account name
- Your key
- Type of key
To get the required details:
- Return to your browser
- Beside Account name, click:
“Copy name” - Paste it into the Account name field in Google Authenticator
- Beside Secret key, click:
“Copy key” - Paste it into the Your key field in Google Authenticator
- Leave Type of key as:
Time based
After entering all details:
- Tap the Add button
The account will now be added to the Google Authenticator app.
Step 6 — Verify the Authentication Code
After adding the account:
- The Google Authenticator dashboard will now show your MSEUF account
- A 6-digit verification code will also appear
Tap the current code once to copy it.
Return to your browser.
If you are still on the:
“Enter the following into Authenticator” screen
Click the Next button.
You should now see the:
“Enter the code” screen.
- Paste the 6-digit code into the input field
- Click the Next button
Step 7 — Finish the Setup
If the verification is successful, you will now see:
“Authenticator app added”
To complete the setup:
- Click the Done button
Your Google Authenticator setup is now complete.

Your MSEUF Microsoft account contains important academic and institutional information. Securing it with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) helps protect your account from unauthorized access and online threats.
As an Envergan, always practice safe account security habits to help keep your information secure.
Important Security Reminders
- Never share your password or verification codes with anyone
- Do not provide authentication codes through chat, email, or phone calls
- Avoid approving or entering codes for unknown login attempts
- Keep your mobile device protected with a PIN, fingerprint, or Face ID
- Be cautious of suspicious emails and fake login pages
- Only install applications from official app stores
- Keep your recovery information updated when possible
- If you lose your phone, contact ICTD immediately for assistance
If you suspect suspicious activity on your account, change your password immediately and contact ICTD for support.
