Criminology Martial Arts Society extends support to BJMP Lucena inmates
The Criminology Martial Arts Society (CMAS), in partnership with the College of Criminal Justice and Criminology–Community Extension Service (CCJC–CES), conducted “Your Wish Is My Command,” a community extension project that provided hygiene kits and personalized gifts to 11 female inmates of the BJMP Lucena City District Jail – Female Dormitory.
The outreach activity was carried out with the support of CMAS alumni, represented by Sir Ronald Rivera, and aimed to address both the basic needs and emotional well-being of the beneficiaries. Organizers said the initiative sought to uplift morale, strengthen dignity, and foster hope among the inmates through meaningful and compassionate engagement.
During the activity, volunteers distributed hygiene kits and personally prepared gifts to the inmates, creating an atmosphere of empathy, encouragement, and respect. The interaction allowed students, faculty members, and alumni to connect with the beneficiaries in a positive and supportive manner.
Organizers noted that the project strengthened collaboration among CMAS, CCJC–CES, faculty, and alumni, while reinforcing the importance of service-oriented values and social responsibility. The initiative also provided students and alumni with an opportunity to translate principles of compassion, leadership, and community service into concrete action.
The project directly benefited the 11 female inmates by promoting dignity, emotional support, and improved morale, in line with the broader goals of community extension and restorative care.
The activity reflects Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation’s commitment to Service and Mindfulness by addressing the needs of marginalized sectors with compassion and respect. It also demonstrates Unity through collaboration among students, faculty, and alumni, and Fortitude by encouraging sustained engagement in restorative and community-centered initiatives.
