The CAS Psychological Society conducted “The Helper’s Toolkit: Essential Strategies of Providing Psychological First Aid in Emergency Settings” on March 13 at the EMRC to equip student leaders and future practitioners with practical skills for providing immediate mental health support during crises.

The seminar featured Elvira Anda, Social Welfare Officer IV, as resource speaker.

Anda discussed the core principles of psychological first aid and emphasized that disasters and emergencies affect people not only physically but also behaviorally, emotionally and cognitively.

She reminded participants that helping others in crisis requires presence, patience and genuine care.

The session also addressed the experience of helpers, stressing the importance of managing the emotional weight of difficult stories while maintaining calmness, empathy and professionalism.

Through the activity, participants gained a deeper understanding that effective psychological support requires both technical knowledge and sincere service.

By spearheading the seminar, the CAS Psychological Society strengthened its commitment to promoting self-awareness, mental health support and compassionate service among future psychology professionals.

The activity reflected Enverga University’s core values of Mindfulness, Service and Excellence by preparing students to respond to others with empathy, competence and responsibility during difficult situations. It also supported transformative learning by helping students connect classroom knowledge with real-life crisis response and community care.
