CAS Psychological Society joins 70 leaders in LEAPS workshop; earns accreditation

CAS Psychological Society

The CAS Psychological Society joined about 70 student leaders during the Leadership Advancement Program and Services (LEAPS) at the University Library Seminar Hall of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation to strengthen leadership, accountability and digital communication among accredited student organizations, Jan. 9.

The Office of Student Organizations spearheaded the program, which opened with a Microsite Training for Accredited Student Organizations. Simon Romuel Uy facilitated a workshop on news writing and website posting, where he guided participants on responsible content creation, proper publishing practices and compliance with university standards.

As part of accreditation requirements, organizations, including the CAS Psychological Society, produced news articles highlighting their previous activities to reinforce transparency and accurate documentation.

After the training sessions, the University recognized accredited student organizations through a certificate awarding ceremony. The CAS Psychological Society received its accreditation certificate, affirming its active participation and contributions during the previous academic year.

Organizers concluded the program with a general assembly that reviewed guidelines for submitting documents for off-campus activities. University officials reminded organizations to comply with prescribed timelines to ensure smooth processing of requirements.

Through its participation, the CAS Psychological Society strengthened its competencies in leadership, digital communication and responsible documentation while reinforcing its role in advancing student engagement within the College of Arts and Sciences.

The LEAPS program reflected the University’s commitment to Excellence and Unity by cultivating accountable and digitally competent student leaders. It also upheld student-centered and outcomes-oriented education by providing hands-on training that translated leadership principles into practical organizational skills.
