The College of Education, in collaboration with KAMFILAN, placed third in the Fiestanglaw 2025 Parol Making Contest held on Nov. 28 at the AEC Little Theater.

The activity was organized in partnership with the College of Education–Teacher Council Organization and other student organizations of the College of Education to celebrate the Filipino Christmas spirit through creativity and collaboration.

Participating organizations were challenged to design and craft traditional parols, or star lanterns, reflecting their unique interpretation of Christmas joy and Filipino heritage. Beyond artistic expression, the contest emphasized teamwork as students pooled ideas, skills, and creativity to complete their entries.

Participants shared that the parol making activity strengthened camaraderie among members and deepened their appreciation of Filipino traditions. Through collaboration and innovation, students transformed simple materials into meaningful symbols of hope and unity.

Fiestanglaw 2025 highlighted the importance of preserving cultural traditions while providing a platform for students to express creativity. Each parol displayed during the event symbolized love, pride, and the enduring spirit of the Filipino Christmas.

The activity reflects the University’s commitment to Unity and Excellence by encouraging collaboration, creativity, and cultural appreciation among students. It also demonstrates Service and Mindfulness as learners honor Filipino heritage while fostering community engagement and shared identity.
