The CAS Psychological Society joined “One World, One Meal,” a Community Extension Service activity held March 27 at Barra Elementary School in connection with the Social Sciences Week 2026 celebration, to promote empathy, gratitude and social responsibility among students and young learners.

CPS served as one of the partner organizations in the outreach activity, which brought members together with 100 pupils from Grades 1 to 3.

The initiative aimed to bridge social gaps and foster a spirit of care through the simple act of sharing a meal.

The program also featured activities focused on the holistic well-being of the children, including a handwashing demonstration that promoted proper hygiene before the feeding activity.

To support values formation, organizers also conducted a storytelling session titled “The Honest Woodcutter,” which emphasized integrity and truthfulness.

Through the activity, CPS members recognized community service as a meaningful way to practice empathy, social responsibility and human connection.

The outreach turned a shared meal into a celebration of hope, inclusion and care for the local community.

The activity reflected Enverga University’s core values of Service, Mindfulness and Unity by encouraging students to support young learners through compassion, care and meaningful community engagement. It also supported transformative learning by helping students apply empathy and social awareness beyond the classroom.

  • SDG 2: Zero Hunger – The feeding activity helped address the nutritional needs of young pupils through shared community support.
  • SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being – The handwashing demonstration promoted hygiene, health awareness and child well-being.
  • SDG 4: Quality Education – The storytelling session supported values formation and learning among elementary pupils.
  • SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities – The outreach helped bridge social gaps by extending support to young learners in the community.
