MASTECH officers complete peer facilitator program
Officers and representatives of the MSEUF Association of Multimedia Artists and Technologists concluded their participation in the Peer Facilitator Program through the “Peer Mediator Wrap Up” held April 23 at the Office of Student Affairs and Services Conference Room.
The session served as the final gathering of the program and brought together five MASTECH officers and representatives for reflection and empowerment activities focused on peer support and student welfare.
April Marquez, university guidance counselor, facilitated the session and reviewed key lessons from previous training activities.
The discussion covered active listening, confidentiality, setting boundaries and proper referral to guidance counselors.
Participants also received identification pins bearing the message, “Hi, I am your peerkada and here to help you,” to make peer facilitators more visible and approachable to students seeking support.
The activity strengthened participants’ confidence in serving fellow students and reinforced their role in promoting a supportive and healthy university environment.
The initiative primarily benefited the College of Computing and Multimedia Studies and its students while contributing to a more accessible peer support system across the campus.
The activity reflected Enverga University’s core values of Mindfulness, Service and Unity by encouraging student leaders to listen with care, support their peers responsibly and help build a compassionate campus community. It also supported student-centered learning by equipping students with practical skills in communication, peer support and responsible referral.
- SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being – The program strengthened peer support and promoted mental and emotional well-being among students.
- SDG 4: Quality Education – The activity provided practical learning on communication, boundaries and student welfare support.
- SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions – The training promoted trust, confidentiality and responsible peer mediation within the university.
- SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals – The initiative showed collaboration between OSAS, guidance personnel and student leaders in supporting student well-being.
