LIB.COM holds LIS Career Talk 2026 for HUMSS students
LIB.COM conducted the LIS Career Talk 2026 titled “Beyond Libraries: Journeys and Careers in Library and Information Science” on March 2, at Reading Area 2 of the University Libraries to introduce Humanities and Social Sciences students to career opportunities in Library and Information Science.
The activity was organized for MSEUF Basic Education Department work immersion students who completed their immersion program at the University Libraries.
Through the career talk, participants gained insights into the Bachelor of Library and Information Science program and the professional paths available in the field.
Ahtrea Mae Flavier, a fourth-year BLIS student, shared her academic journey and personal growth in the program, encouraging students to explore the opportunities offered by LIS education.
Hailey Kate Laqui, a registered librarian, discussed her experience of securing employment in the institution shortly after graduation, highlighting the career readiness of BLIS graduates.
Myrna Casipit, director of the University Libraries, presented the different career opportunities in the LIS profession.
Casipit emphasized that Library and Information Science extends beyond traditional library work and includes roles in information management, research, archives, digital services and emerging fields.
Through the activity, LIB.COM reaffirmed its commitment to promoting academic support, career awareness and professional development among students.
The career talk also encouraged HUMSS students to consider future careers in the growing field of Library and Information Science.
The activity reflected Enverga University’s core values of Excellence, Service and Mindfulness by guiding students toward informed academic and career choices. It also supported student-centered learning by helping learners connect their work immersion experience with possible professional pathways in Library and Information Science.
