GEP–QSC engages freshmen through OSAlubong activities

Geodetic Engineers of the Philippines QSC

The Geodetic Engineers of the Philippines – Quezon Student Chapter participated in the OSAlubong organized by the Office of Student Affairs and Services, encouraging freshmen to apply their knowledge, skills, and attitude as they begin their engineering education.

Committee emphasized the importance of critical thinking, communication, problem-solving, and leadership in helping students uncover their potential—not only as future engineers but also as individuals prepared to contribute meaningfully to society.

The activity aimed to help first-year students become familiar with their chosen programs and the organizations that support their academic journey. Guided by the DSC chairman’s directives, participating organizations designed activities aligned with their curriculum to provide freshmen with a clearer understanding of engineering courses. Each organization facilitated games and challenges intended to test students’ capabilities while creating an engaging and welcoming environment.

According to GEP-QSC, the activity successfully fostered interaction, communication, and connection among students, particularly freshmen seeking to learn more about their respective programs. OSAlubong also highlighted the value of engineering across industries and promoted positive attitudes essential inside and outside the campus.

The project benefited GEP–QSC members and freshman engineering students. Expenses for the activity amounted to P500, which was covered by organizational funds.

The activity reflects the University’s commitment to Unity and Service by welcoming new students and fostering peer engagement. It also demonstrates Excellence and Mindfulness by guiding freshmen toward purposeful learning, leadership development, and responsible conduct as members of the academic community.
