Social Sciences Society holds dry run ahead of Batas Militar forum

CAS Social Sciences Society

The CAS Social Sciences Society conducted a dry run for its upcoming event on Batas Militar on Sept. 23 at the St. Bonaventure Student Center to ensure the smooth execution of the main program scheduled on Sept. 30.

The preparatory activity involved 19 participants from the College of Arts and Sciences, including officers of the CAS Social Sciences Society, five official members assigned as logistics and hosts, three members of the Political Science Society serving as logistics support, and three members of Hilaya.

Organizers said the dry run served as a simulation of the actual program to test presentations, technical setups, time management, and coordination among committees. The activity aimed to identify and address potential concerns related to program flow and logistics before the main event.

During the rehearsal, organizers reviewed sequences of activities, refined technical requirements, and adjusted roles and responsibilities. Issues encountered during the simulation were immediately discussed and resolved, resulting in improved coordination and preparedness among the teams.

According to the organizers, the dry run boosted the confidence of the participants and ensured that necessary adjustments were made to deliver a more organized and impactful event. The activity is expected to contribute to the successful conduct of the Martial Law commemoration, which is open to students from various programs under the CAS Department and other interested participants.

The activity supports the University’s mission of holistic and student-centered education by promoting critical thinking, organization, and responsible leadership through careful preparation. It reflects the core values of Excellence through quality program planning, Unity through collaboration among student organizations, Mindfulness by anticipating and addressing logistical concerns, and Service by ensuring a meaningful and well-organized academic forum for the community.
