CAS Social Sciences Society holds Process Week to strengthen teamwork and recruitment
The CAS Social Sciences Society conducted its Process Week from Aug. 4 to 8, 2025, as a collaborative activity aimed at strengthening teamwork, project-planning skills, and organizational readiness while screening new aspirants for membership.
Initiated by the organization’s officers and official members, the weeklong activity required aspiring members to complete a series of challenges and tasks designed to test their commitment, creativity, and ability to contribute meaningfully to the organization. Organizers said the process allowed current members to assess applicants’ readiness while fostering active participation and innovation.
Throughout the week, participants engaged in activities that emphasized cooperation, problem-solving, and practical application of social science concepts. The challenges also served as a training ground for members to enhance their skills in planning, coordination, and implementation of projects that may benefit the organization in the future.
Organizers noted that the activity resulted in stronger collaboration among members and helped cultivate a sense of shared responsibility within the organization. The experience also enhanced participants’ project management skills, which are essential for developing impactful initiatives aligned with the society’s goals.
The primary beneficiaries of the project were the CAS Social Sciences Society members and the organization itself, as Process Week contributed to the recruitment of motivated individuals and strengthened the organization’s foundation for future activities.
The activity supports the University’s mission of holistic and student-centered education by providing experiential learning that develops leadership, critical thinking, and collaboration among students. It reflects the core values of Unity through teamwork and shared responsibility, Excellence by strengthening planning and organizational skills, Mindfulness through purposeful engagement, and Service by preparing students to contribute meaningfully to the academic community.
